What DIN 45, 51, 61 and 71 mean
The DIN designation on canisters refers to the size of the threaded opening – the number corresponds to the outer diameter of the thread in millimetres. A DIN 51 cap therefore fits any canister with a DIN 51 neck, regardless of manufacturer. The larger the opening, the faster the canister can be filled and emptied – smaller openings, on the other hand, allow more precise dosing.

Does a DIN 51 tap fit a DIN 61 canister? No – the threads are not compatible. The exact DIN number is what counts.

Delivered with the original seal? Canisters are delivered with an unused original cap; taps and spouts are intended as separate accessories and are fitted by the customer as required.
